Shipping
Shipping instructions
The most important rule comes first: don't ship anything yet. Submit a scan request, get your quote and approval, and then follow the shipping guidance that comes with it.
BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE
Submit a scan request before shipping anything
Every project starts with photos and part details, not a package. We review your part, confirm it’s a good fit for mail-in scanning, send a quote, and then provide shipping guidance — including where to send it. Shipping before approval risks wasted time and shipping cost on a part that may not be a good fit.
Packaging
Package it like it matters
Your part makes two trips — to us and back to you. Good packaging protects both.
- Use a strong box with enough room for padding on all sides
- Wrap the part so it cannot move around inside the box
- Protect fragile surfaces, edges, and any features you care about most
- Bag dirty or oily parts so residue stays contained
- Cover or guard sharp edges for safe handling
- Include your name and quote/reference info inside the box
DISCLOSE BEFORE SHIPPING
Tell us about special-handling parts
Mention any of the following in your scan request or before shipping, so handling and return packaging can be planned properly:
- Fragile parts or surfaces
- Valuable or irreplaceable parts
- Sharp edges or points
- Dirty, oily, or contaminated parts
- Unusually heavy parts
THE RETURN TRIP
Your part comes back after scanning
Once scanning and processing are complete, your physical part is returned to you. Return shipping details — carrier, cost, and timing — are confirmed during the quote process, before you send anything in.
Start with the request, not the box
Photos and rough dimensions are all it takes to get going. Shipping guidance arrives with your approved quote.
Quote first — nothing ships until your project is approved.
